Chicken with beer in the oven

Ingredients:

  • 800 g chicken pieces
  • 400 ml Tòny pale ale
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • rosemary
  • fresh thyme
  • flour
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 knob of butter
  • salt
  • black pepper

Preparation:

The first thing to do when making chicken with beer in the oven is to wash the pieces of chicken and dry them. Then put them into a glass dish with the beer, the garlic cut in half, a few crushed peppercorns, thyme and rosemary. Leave to marinate, covered with cling film for at least an hour in the fridge. Drain the chicken (keeping the marinade) and coat the pieces in flour. Brown them in a pan in a couple of spoonfuls of oil and the butter. Turn often to ensure they are golden on all sides, taste for salt and put into an oven dish. Add the marinade, herbs and garlic. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 40-50 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces. Once cooked, arrange on a serving plate and serve hot.
